About Crop Diagnostix:

Crop Diagnostix is an innovative AgTech startup using cutting-edge genomics and AI to turn plant signals into actionable insights for farmers and agronomists. Join us as we build the future of predictive agriculture and help farmers feed the world sustainably.

Job Overview:

As our Agronomy Account Manager, your mission is to own customer onboarding, education, and in-season success for agronomy partners and growers after the sale. You will be the primary agronomic point of contact for customers using Crop Diagnostix, ensuring they understand our RNA insights, trust the data, and are able to act on it.

The Agronomy Account Manager will help deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience as we scale our customer base. You will build repeatable customer success workflows, educational materials, and proactive account management processes that allow Crop Diagnostix to grow with high trust and usability.

Key Responsibilities:

In your first 30 days, you might:

  • Lead onboarding for new customers, including kickoff calls, sampling education, and platform walkthroughs
  • Become fluent in Crop Diagnostix insights, dashboards, and core agronomic use cases
  • Take ownership of day-to-day customer questions and follow-ups previously handled by sales leadership

By 60 days, you might:

  • Build and document standardized onboarding workflows, success plans, and escalation processes
  • Create or refine customer-facing materials such as onboarding decks, FAQs, sampling guides, and field protocols

By 90 days, you might:

  • Own post-sale account management for the majority of customers
  • Ensure over 90 percent of accounts receive at least one proactive touchpoint per month
  • Improve customer understanding and confidence in RNA insights, setting the foundation for renewals and expansion
  • Identify upsell or expansion opportunities and loop in sales leadership when appropriate

Qualifications:

  • Background in agronomy, crop consulting, ag retail, or a closely related field
  • Experience working directly with growers and agronomists
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for technical education
  • Experience in a startup or fast-moving environment preferred
  • Willingness to travel
  • Based in or open to relocating to San Diego (preferred) - relocation support provided
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. (we are not currently offering visa sponsorship)

Competencies:

  • Startup Mentality: You are scrappy, adaptable, and comfortable doing unglamorous but important work. You thrive in ambiguity and move quickly when priorities shift.
  • Systems and Automation Mindset: You look for ways to reduce repetitive work through better processes, templates, and AI-enabled tools. You can build lightweight workflows without engineering support.
  • Agronomy Knowledge and Communication: You have sufficient agronomic depth to explain RNA-based insights, answer grower questions, and create educational materials independently.
  • Commercial Judgment: You understand customer value, can spot expansion opportunities, and know when to involve sales leadership.
  • Strong Computer Skills: You are highly competent in Excel and PowerPoint and quick to learn new tools. You can create polished customer-facing materials without assistance.
