About Local Line
Local Line is the leading farm-to-fork commerce platform for farms, distributors, restaurants, and grocery stores. We help family farms access new markets and connect with local buyers, and we help buyers discover and buy directly from family farms. Our mission is to create a better food system by shortening the global supply chain and empowering family farms to remain independent.
From neighbourhood grocery stores to multi-thousand-store chains, buyers rely on our platform to source food grown closest to them. We have paying customers in 13 countries and are experiencing best-in-class growth. We’re a deeply customer-obsessed team of 26, and we’re looking for an ambitious leader to scale our operations and financial strategy. With a clear vision and validated roadmap, we’re positioned to build the future of local food commerce—and we hope you’ll join us.
About the Team
Local Line is structured into two core teams: Product and Revenue.
- The Product team (designers, engineers, and PMs) builds our platform.
- The Revenue team (marketers, sales reps, account managers, and support reps) drives customer acquisition and retention.
This role will work cross-functionally but will be most deeply embedded with the Revenue team, optimizing financial and operational processes that drive growth. Within the Revenue team, we have:
- The Farm team, focused on selling, onboarding, and scaling farmers.
- The Buyer team, which manages relationships with restaurants, grocers, and other buyers.
As our Head of Operations and Finance, you’ll work closely with both teams to improve operational inputs and maximize revenue outcomes.
What You’ll Do
As Head of Operations and Finance, you will report directly to the CEO and serve as a key member of the leadership team. You’ll own finance, operations, and business strategy, ensuring we have the structure, reporting, and insights needed to scale effectively.
Operations & Strategy
- Design, implement, and optimize processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and automation.
- Ensure alignment across Marketing, Sales, Success, and Support teams to streamline the customer lifecycle.
- Develop real-time dashboards and reporting frameworks to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Lead contract negotiations, vendor management, and strategic partnerships.
- Drive operational excellence, identifying bottlenecks and implementing scalable solutions.
Finance & Growth
- Own and report on key SaaS and financial metrics.
- Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets to guide strategic planning.
- Oversee bookkeeping, payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Lead cost analysis, pricing strategy, and investment planning to ensure financial sustainability.
- Support fundraising and investor relations, including financial reporting and capital allocation strategy.
- Act as a steward of the P&L, ensuring financial discipline and resource optimization.
Who You Are
We’re looking for a leader who understands both operations and finance in a high-growth SaaS or marketplace environment. You should be equally comfortable in strategic discussions and rolling up your sleeves to solve problems.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in finance, operations, or strategy, preferably in a high-growth SaaS startup or marketplace.
- Deep understanding of SaaS financial metrics with a proven track record of improving them, not just reporting on them.
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Experience in scaling operations, including process optimization and automation.
- Proficiency in accounting systems, SaaS analytics tools, and financial reporting platforms.
- Strong negotiation skills for vendor contracts and financial agreements.
- Experience with fundraising and investor relations is a plus.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (CPA/CFA is a plus).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Why Join Us?
- Work with a mission-driven team solving real-world problems in the food system.
- Be a key leadership team member helping scale a fast-growing SaaS company.
- Own your role—this is a high-impact position with direct influence on company success.
- Receive equity ownership in a company with a proven track record and strong growth trajectory.
- Lead finance and operations in a company trusted by thousands of customers worldwide.
Perks & Benefits
- Competitive Compensation (Salary + Equity).
- Comprehensive Health Benefits.
- Stock Options.
- Three Weeks Vacation + Paid Sick Leave.
- Latest MacBook/PC.
- Quarterly Team Offsite's.
